About Us

Where it all began

Bubbles 'N' Splashes Swim School was first started in September 2015 by Saffron-Elise, with just a name and social media page.

In March 2016 we had our very first private swimming lessons, with just 2 lessons on a Friday, at Ashdown Primary school in Crowborough 5 months after starting up.

Since then we have continued to grow and expand now teaching over 150 children per week Monday - Saturday. We teach babies and children from complete beginners to advanced swimmers.

The swim school continues to grow and expand each year in 2021 we celebrated our 5th Birthday!

About the Swim School 

Saffron-Elise spent her early swim teaching career teaching in many different swim schools and leisure centres, assisting swimming teachers as well as teaching along side them.

She learnt a lot in those early years and realised one thing with the swimming lessons she taught, there were a lot of students per teacher and there was not a lot of swimming happening nor was she able to support individual children who needed it.

Not wanting this to be the case in her swim school she decided to offer group lessons with just 4 students in her beginner classes and slowly increasing the amount of students as they progress, gain confidence and improve to just 7 students in the advanced lessons. This meant that she could focus on each student in the class, catering to their needs more easily but also ensure each child was able to swim a lot more in their lesson.

Further more as the children progressed and their swimming improves it was a task to be able to get the children to meet and achieve the required standard for the higher stages so after some brainstorming it was decided to increase all Level 5 and above lessons to 45 minutes to allow more time for technique work that is needed.

We also run a child centred approach to all our lessons from our babies through to our Junior lessons. This is to allow children to unfold in their own way at their own pace and to feel empowered.

Saffron-Elise

Director

With over 10 years of experience in swim teaching, I am the founder of Bubbles 'N' Splashes Swim School and the school swimming teacher at Ashdown Primary School. Swimming and teaching children to swim is not just a profession—it’s my passion. My goal is to share the love and joy of the water with as many children as possible, which was a key inspiration for starting my swim school.


From my early days swimming for my local club to dedicating my career to aquatic education, water has always been a central part of my life. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, getting creative, and spending quality time with my dachshund, Bella.

Teresa

Poolside Manager & Swimming Instructor

I have always loved working with children and spent many years as a nanny, au pair, mother’s help, and childminder. My journey at Bubbles 'N' Splashes began as a poolside assistant, but as the swim school grew, so did my role—soon expanding into Poolside Manager. In 2023, I embraced the opportunity to become an Aquatic Helper, and in 2024, I took the plunge into becoming a Swimming Instructor.


Teaching children is both a challenge and a joy, and I find immense reward in watching their confidence and swimming skills flourish. Outside of the pool, I enjoy reading and baking.

Katie

Swimming Instructor

Katie first joined Bubbles 'N' Splashes through our Accompanied lessons with her daughter, who has since progressed to our Preschool sessions. When we put out a job posting for new team members, Katie applied and began as an Aquatic Helper in 2024, quickly proving herself to be fantastic with the children—helping them flourish and stay focused in lessons.


Last summer, Katie completed her Swim Instructor qualification along with a teacher rescue course, and she been teaching her own lessons for a year on Tuesday's, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Suzi

Swimming Instructor

Suzi is the newest member of our team, bringing years of experience in baby and preschool swimming lessons. After taking a break to focus on family, she has jumped back into swim teaching with enthusiasm. Since joining us, Suzi has expanded her knowledge and completed her STA Award in Teaching Swimming. She teaches on Tuesday and Saturday mornings, sharing her expertise with our swimmers.


Suzi brings a fun and engaging approach to her lessons, making learning an enjoyable experience for the children. Her energy and enthusiasm have been a huge hit, and the children have loved their lessons with her.


Outside of the pool, Suzi works as a carer in her spare time and has a busy household with her two dogs and ferrets.

This pool is heated to 30-32 degrees with a depth of 0.86M - 0.90M. 


The pool has the following facilities:

  • Boys/girls changing rooms
  • Toilets
  • Showers
  • Seating for spectators
  • Car park on site (evening only)
